MTV VMA's 2009 Live blog - The entire show reviewed

Hey Chicos,

We are ON! Before we get time-stamping we have to say the first horrifyng thing that's left us stunned is Jennifer Lopez's hideous outfit on the Red Carpet outside Radio City Music Hall in New York City. What the heck was she thinking? She's definitely not making any best-dressed list with that neck criss-cross thang.

9pm: The Queen of Pop opens the show sharing great kind words about the late King of Pop and gets a well-deserved standing ovation. Wow, Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy had his eyes closed paying his respects, others visibly moved were Alicia Keys and Pink. Cue the tribute!

 9:10: Janeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!! Badass, that's all we can say, seeing Janet Jackson pay tribute to MJ like that was amazing, plus, we give her props for being able to even keep it together. We can't imagine what that must feel like.

9:14: Dear Katy Perry, why are you butchering 'We Will Rock You?" Russell Brand is looking quite dashing in that suit and high-heeled booties. WE LOVE THIS GUY! Too bad he wants to sleep with Lady Gaga.

9:22: Shakira and Taylor Lautner introduce Best Female Video... dun dun dun: Taylor Swift for "You Belong With Me". WTF. Beyoncecita got robbed! "Singles Ladies" is way better! Whoa!!!! Guess we're not the only ones who feel that way... Kanye West is going coocoo banana crackers and took the stage to say Beyonce's video was the best of all time. Poor Taylor though, she couldn't finish her speech :(

9:31: Commercial break, time for us to bust out the snacks...

9:33: Russell Brand took his jacket off, yes! Our favorite Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester, presents Best Rock Video with funnyman Jack Black and it goes to..........Green Day for "21 Guns" we lost our bets thinking either Paramore or Kings of Leon would win... so far we're doing terrible on our predictions!

9:38: Children introducing artists at the VMAs creep us out but there's Taylor Swift  wearing a pretty red dress in the subway performing her Moonman winning song, "You Belong With Me". We real New Yorkers think the train is a fake out, or built especially for her... but we could be wrong.

9:48: Pete Wentz, his annoying bang, and Gabe Saporta introduce the wacky Lady/Mister Gaga.

9:50: Dear Lady Gaga, just because you wear weird outfits, doesn't mean you are artsy, or cutting-edge. That's all we're sayin'. Plus that Kool-Aid on her face at the end of her performance just made us thirsty.

10:02: The always adorable Nelly Furtado and reality TV star Kirsten Cavallari present Best Pop Video.....Will Wisin y Yandel win?

10:03: Errrrr, Britney Spears wins it for "Womanizer", didn't get a Moonman for W&Y but at least we got Nelly hablando en español.

10:09: Mega sexy chica Megan Fox and Adam Brody --remember him, the geeky/cool guy from The OC?-- present a rockin' performance by Green Day, which causes premeditated on-stage mayhem.

10:16: Woah! Pitbull's in da house. As is Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to show off the trailer of the Twilight sequel, a movie we're not interested in watching.

10:20: Ne-Yo and the smokin' hot Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford introduce Beyoncecita's performance which begins with lasers. This is gonna be good.

10:25: We don't know how Beyonce twists and turns in that freakin' leotard without having wardrobe malfunctions! She made us get up and do our best "Single Ladies" dance.

10:32: Jamie Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos chick) and P.Diddy, Sean Combs --whatever he calls himself these days-- introduce Best Male Video which goes to T.I. who's currently serving time in jail ha,ha, keepin' it classy.

10:35: Gerard Butler --dayum!-- introduces Brit-rock band Muse who perform a song that sounds like everything else they have ever made. Zzzzzzzzzz. Time for us to chomp some Oreos.

10:47: PORQUE JENNY!??????? WHY? WHY? WHY? Are you wearing that nasty dress!

10:48:  Eminem wins Best Hip-hop Video, who else thinks Em had a little Botox? We've been debating this all night here at the In Headphones headquarterz.

10:57: Tracy Morgan (from 30 Rock) and Eminem...(Botox or not? Help us!) take the stage. All Tracy needs to do to crack us up is talk.

10:58: Lady Gaga wins Best New Artist. Yuk! We knew this was gonna happen but WHAT IS WITH THE OUTFITS! She tries so hard, it's painful to watch.

11:01: P!nk is flying! Is not the VMAs 'til someone flies in see-through tops and nipple pasties.

11:11: This show just got good, again. Andy Samberg and Jimmy Fallon rock Video of the Year.

11:13: BEYONCE takes it home!!!!! How appropiate that Andy gave her the award? Remember it was him and Justin Timberlake who donned leotards and heels to replicate "Single Ladies" for SNL?

11:14: Awww, la linda Beyoncita invited Taylor Swift back to the stage so she could give her winning speech after the Kanye West fiasco. Beyonce is a lover not a fighter <3

11:22: Jay-Z is big pimpin' in the building as Alicia Keys hits the piano. We're loving us this track and how cute is Beyonce singing all the lyrics to her man's song? They are our new favorite power couple for sure.

11:28: Michael Jackson's final work doc... we're teary :(

11:31: The show's over, we can tell MTV really blew a ton of cash on it and we had a great time blogging, eating and gossiping.

Did you think Kanye was totally out of place and attention-whorin' by ripping the mic from lil Taylor's hands? Where you proud of Beyonce for being the better woman and giving Tay the last word?

What did you think of the Jay-Z/Alicia collabo AND DID EMINEM GET BOTOX?  This is killing us and he is looking very tight-faced lately!
