Puerto Rico's governor and the FBI

So we head south, deep down south into the tropical island known as Puerto Rico, for those of you that don’t know it’s location, lets see, try in the Caribbean sea next to the Dominican Republic and to the right, you’ll find it.  Puerto Rico is a US Territory or as some call it a US Commonwealth ever since 1898, and all of it citizens are US citizens.

Puerto Rico’s governor Anibal Acevedo Vila is involved in some deep, deep waters as he faces 19 federal counts including, conspiracy, false statements, wire fraud, federal program fraud and tax crimes.  Acevedo Vila was Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner/Congressman in the US House of Representative from 2001 through 2005 and has been the governor ever since 2005.

This complete mess started 3 or 4 years ago when Anibal Acevedo Vila was involved in a series of illegal business/moves with some private companies located in Philadelphia.  All of this while the FBI was tapping in.  I mean come on! 19 counts by the FBI and the IRS? This is very serious; the governor is facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted.  Now the Democratic Political Party (PPD) is calling foul stating that the FBI is targeting them(PPD) politically because Anibal Acevedo Vila publicly denounced the “alleged” killing of a well known terrorist in Puerto Rico (Filiberto Ojeda) by the FBI in 2005.

Acevedo Vila has been a controversial leader, having mixed feelings about the federal government, mean while he’s always asking for more federal funds for all the federal programs in Puerto Rico, but at same time he’s criticizing the Federal government all the time.

So what do you think, is he really innocent and the FBI is making this up or is he guilty and a liar as well?

If you ask me he is guilty as hell!
